WAKE UP AMERICA BEFORE IT IS TO DAMN LATE!!!!!
Thoughts from a Common Man
Welcome to "Thoughts from a Common Man". This blog is all about my opinions. I will always try to tell where the information was received but it will be my opinion based on that information. It may be an article, news report, or even a television program. As always I invite your feedback and input but let's try to keep it somewhat civil.

Wake Up
If you have been watching the news on TV or listening on the radio you are aware that Wisconsin unions are once again trying to get their way by having another recall election. This time they want to get our new Governor Scott Walker out of office and get a liberal back in so they can once again suck from the government money trough like they have been for so many years. The unions and the people who support them could care less that the state and the very country are going to hell in a hand basket and 90% of it is due to the unions and the liberals. Here in Wisconsin when it was discovered that the teachers union owned the insurance company that teachers were forced to use and they were then given a choice the state saved millions of dollars as did the teachers. But do they care? Hell no. they want the taxpayers to support them in the form of health care and retirement programs. And if it bankrupts the state and the country to damn bad. As long as I get mine I could care less about anyone or anything else. All you have to do to see the damage unions did and are doing is look at Detroit. A once beautiful, thriving city is like a slum now. The auto unions promised unbelievable retirement programs to the workers then the corrupt leadership spent all the money and the government spent billions trying to bail them out. What happened to Detroit is going to happen to the entire country if people don't pull their heads out of their asses and realize that the taxpayers cannot pay for all their wants anymore. Another thing to think about is if the union leaders stopped giving millions of dollars to the liberals in the form of campaign donations and put that money into the retirement programs maybe they would not have to stand around with their hands out looking to be bailed out all the time. Of course the union leaders could care less about its members, the taxpayers will provide for them, they just care about the power they enjoy. They damn near run the country with the control they have over the politicians who are supposed to be leading not getting rich on payoffs and bribes. When Walker took away a portion of their collective bargaining rights the unions acted as if they had been dealt a death blow and all of them would die from illness and starvation. To have to pay a portion of their health insurance like everyone else in the country was just not, BY GOD, right. That was just asking way to much of them. They retained their right to negotiate their pay but with the loss of some of the collective bargaining they could no longer go on strike if they didn't like the color of the walls or that they only got an hour for lunch when they really wanted two. Who in the hell could do their job under those conditions? We were just asking way to much of them. And if it destroyed the state and the country or non union folks lost their jobs and their homes well it was just the price that had to be paid because union folks are worth it. Yeah right. Unions have outlived their usefulness. The things they were formed to protect are now covered by state and federal laws. It is just about the power for the leadership and outrageous benefits for the members now. What will happen, if this lunacy is not checked, is that the liberals, a group that now seems bent on destroying this country and everything it stands for, will get their way and we will become a socialist state, controlled by the government, and forced to watch the country many of us love so dearly and many have sacrificed their lives for, die just like Europe, whom they seem to think has all the answers. We have a muslim socialist occupying the highest office in the country who spends his time golfing or traveling around the world apologizing for America, bowing to muslim leaders, and telling them we are not a Christian nation. His arrogance and lack of love for the country he leads is so apparent you would have to be a moron not to see it. And from the looks of it there is an abundance of morons out there. What they don't seem to realize is that if they get what they want. A socialist state, they will then be just a worker for the state like everyone else. Just because they helped make it happen does not mean they will be part of the elite. They will enjoy the privilege of working and sacrificing for the good of the state. As they sink lower and lower they will have the joy of seeing their beloved leaders become richer as they take more and more from the working class. When the light of realization shows on their faces it will be a sight to behold. Unfortunately it will be to late and the die will have been cast and the death of America will be complete. We will have failed our country, our fellow man, and most of all our children who will never have the freedoms we once cherished so strongly. The upside, countries like Iran, Pakistan, and many other muslim hellholes will finally get to dance on the devils grave. I wonder if our former friends and allies in Israel will come to our aid? Probably not after the way they were treated by this administration and the fact that they will be fighting for their own existence.

Mad as Hell
So much is going on that it is hard to decide what to write about. It seems like every day we are exposed to another example of how this president and his administration is working hard to destroy our country. And they are being helped every step of the way by none other than those fantastic unions that are so important to the welfare of the American working people. Oh, wait a minute I must have them confused with someone else. They could care less about the country or anyone in it. To give you an example let's look at Wisconsin. Governor Walker, as most of you know, took on the unions here and showed how the state could save millions with just a few concessions from the unions. But the unions, in true patriotic fashion, fought him with all they had. Even to the point that the liberal leadership of the state fled to Illinois so a vote could not be taken and then sued for recall elections when that failed. Fortunately for Wisconsin the republicans were supported enough to get through it all and get the bill passed. Funny thing though, the media never said one negative thing about the leaders who fled the state but instead touted them as heroes. What a lot of folks never heard about was that shortly after the bill was passed it was revealed that the insurance company the teachers were forced to use was, get this, owned by the union and they were charging outrageous amounts and increasing them every year. With the new bill the teachers were given a choice and millions of dollars were saved. So much that no firings or layoffs had to take place. Now, that mean ole governor, wants to freeze the base pay of unions and suspend any raises for two years to help get the Wisconsin economy healthy again and, you guessed it, the union leadership has gone berserk and is threatening to stop this no matter what it takes. Once again showing their greed and total lack of concern about anyone but themselves. Even though many in the state are unemployed and have been for several months, these people feel they are so important that they should continue to get raises regardless of the harm or stress it puts on the rest of us. And they say unions have no heart. They proved how much heart they have by promising legal assistance to the occupy protesters. I won't even start with those guys.
Last of all I find it very disturbing that yet another Border Patrol agent has been sentenced to prison for doing his job well. A Texas agent has been given two years in prison after arresting a 15 year old illegal smuggling drugs into the country for the cartels. It was during a raid and the courts say the agent used undo force when he raised the boys arms up to force him to the ground while he was resisting arrest. Never mind there were no marks on him except from the straps of the 75 pound backpack he was carrying the drugs in. No matter though as he was given immunity to return and testify against the agent. So not only will our government not do anything about the illegal immigrant problem, the drug cartel problem, or help the states that attempt to do it on their own , they will punish any agent who does the job they are paid to do.
I don't know if you have heard of the Fiskars Karma yet. The media is kind of shying away from it as it is an embarrassment to our fine leaders in Washington. It is an electric car being built in Finland, financed by a $529 million dollar loan from, and I know you find this hard to believe, our government. What makes it even more sad is that the Karma is worse than an SUV when it comes to operating efficiency. Glad we found that out before we wasted any real money.
A Muslim cleric has offered a $100,000 reward to anyone who kidnaps an Israeli soldier. This is because of a reward offered by the parents of a kidnapped soldier for information leading to the capture of the known terrorist who was responsible. Now I know the president and liberals say I should embrace the Muslims and show them the love but I am sorry that is not going to happen. Everywhere you look you see them dancing in the streets celebrating some event that has lead to the injury or death of Americans and or our allies or demonstrating against the culture of the countries they have elected to migrate to. If you want to live in a country that is based on Muslim ideology move back to where you came from. Here in America we fought against tyranny so we could live free and have the right to practice whatever religion we wanted. We elect not to practice yours. If you want me to like and respect you as a Muslim stand up with us against the murderers who kill in the name of your religion. Otherwise, learn to live with the profiling and treatment you receive.
The so called super committee formed to find a way to reduce the national debt has come up with a full proof plan. At least the democrats have. Raise taxes and lower the entitlements you have earned by working hard and paying your taxes. Two of the entitlements they have mentioned is social security and military retirement. Never mind it is the elected leaders who drained the social security fund on worthless investments and robbing peter to pay paul. And giving it to the illegal's who so desperately need it. Never mind they don't pay into it and are here ILLEGALLY. I think we should stop that outrageous retirement program they gave themselves and put them on social security. I bet the program would be fixed quick, fast, and in a hurry then. And that brings up the question, if they do get the bill passed to tax the rich even more than they do now, will the politicians pay more taxes also or will they exempt themselves from that too. Of course they have to start paying their taxes first.
I think the time has arrived when we as a people should rise up and say:
"WE ARE MAD AS HELL AND WE ARE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!"
Unless, of course, you want to live in a socialist state and let the government dictate when, where, and how you live your life.
Be free my friend and God Bless.

Just Another Day
With so much going on in the political world it is hard to decide what to write about or what to say.
One of the most prominent events taking place is the continued 'Occupy Wall Street" fiasco. The media tries to make it sound like this group of morons has some kind of agenda but basically what they are saying is take the money from the rich and give it to us. Maybe Ayn Rand wasn't so far off after all. Like many of the characters in her book Atlas Shrugged, the protesters and their liberal supporters feel it is their given right to take what others have worked for and earned and give it to them. So, tell me again how a college education makes you a better person. Seems to me college has become a place where liberal extremist professors shove their anti American dogma down the throats of young people and if they do it right, produce a bunch of brain dead socialists who feel the world owes them everything and they should not be expected to actually earn a living. Thank God (sorry, I hope I did not offend anyone) for the few who make it through and still maintain their love of freedom and country. They are the true endangered species.
Harry Reid set the country straight when he made it clear that the private sector employment was good, it was the public sector that was hurting. So let me see if I have this right. The private sector unemployment rate is 9.1% as opposed to the public sector sitting on an unacceptable 4.7% yet he would have us believe that we, the private sector, is doing okay. If they did away with all the cushy, unneeded government jobs they could almost have no unemployment at all. And if the unions stopped giving all their money to the retiring leaders they would not have to lay anyone off either. Of whom do I speak you ask? In Illinois one retiring union leader stands to make a $500,000 a year pension and another will get around $480,000. Due to a loophole in the system these two, along with others, receive three pensions for the same job. Hey, but you supporters of the unions keep paying your dues and doing your jobs so your tireless, upstanding leaders can get their just rewards. You really are a generous bunch of people. And don't worry if the pension fund goes belly up us taxpayers will make sure you get yours even if we have to give up everything to do it. God knows you deserve it.
Last of all. Right here in our great state of Wisconsin the League of Wisconsin Woman Voters in Dane county is challenging the new voter ID law saying it violates the state constitution creating a third group of people who cannot vote. I have two thoughts about that. 1, since when does any liberal or liberal organization care about the constitution, state or federal? And 2, how does this create a group who cannot vote? If you truly want to vote in an election and you do not have a valid ID you will get one no matter what it takes. If you refuse to get an ID you don't really care about voting anyway. Also, many people have offered to help get folks to the state offices to get an ID if they need it so there really is no excuse. I think they are just doing this because it is Governor Walker who supports this and they cannot stand that. Besides if voter fraud becomes too hard to do how will they win any elections? Of course there is always the Minnesota trick, just keep having recounts till the liberal candidate wins. Job done.
Till next time God bless you all…no insult intended.

Tuesday October 11 2011
It is Tuesday morning and all the great weather we have been experiencing here in Wisconsin is starting to wind down. It is not often that we enjoy 80 degree days in October. Oh well on with the thoughts for today.
The "N" Word
During a recent episode of the View the hosts were discussing the use of the "N" word with their guest. It was brought up that when Barbara Walters used the word while reading a comment that had been written on a wall or somewhere the guest, a black woman, became offended. However, when Whoopie Goldberg used the same word it was okay. The point was made that when a white person used the word it was a racial slur but when a black person used it, it was a term of affection. I am afraid I cannot support that idea. A racial slur, or any kind of slur, is the same no matter who uses it. The term in question was originated as an insult to blacks and was never intended as a term of endearment. It is my contention that you cannot hate people if you don't want to be hated, you cannot hurt people if you don't want to be hurt, and you cannot use racial slurs against anyone if you don't want them used against you. Now obviously I cannot tell anyone how to speak or what words are okay for what races. But I am convinced if we want to see racism eradicated it has to start with erasing these kind of words from our vocabulary. I know in some cases, such as literary works, the words are used to show the mindset of the period and we should not try to rewrite classical literature, and our young people should be aware of it so they can avoid such thinking in the future but I just don't think such language belongs in our day to day conversations. I can let my wife know I love her without saying "yo bitch".
DOJ
Once again the Presidents Department of Justice is flexing its muscle and showing those pesky states who's boss. Alabama has joined a growing list of states being sued by DOJ for having the unmitigated gall to pass a law making it illegal to enter their state illegally. And if the current administration is so fond of the illegal immigrants, why are they called illegal? Doesn't that mean against the law? If the federal government would uphold the law against entering the country "illegally" the states would not have to attempt to do it on their own. I am only 58 years old so probably don't know much but I can't think of another time in current history when a president and his administration fought so hard against the will of the people and their well being. Of course a 30 million person voter base does look pretty good when you have done such a poor job and are getting ready to be tossed out on your behind. Personally I say way to go Alabama, Arizona, and all the other states who are trying to actually protect the citizens, born and legally naturalized, in our great country.Occupy Wall Street
So, after 3 weeks of protesting the wall street protesters finally came out with their official list of grievances. Since they were so vague I won't bother to list them here. You can find them in just about any liberal news media. What I find interesting is that fellow protesters have decided to occupy other streets around the country. One such occupation is Boston. They may not have a solid idea yet what they want but they did hold a rally for accused terrorist Terak Menhanna. He is accused of aiding Al Qaeda in its war against the USA. These morons better hope they never get some of the things they ask for because the first thing that happens is they lose their freedom to do what they are doing. Just like the people that support the president's agenda of creating a socialist state, if or when it does happen they will be the first to be subjugated.
Jail and Lashes
I found this story from Breitbart.com very interesting. It would seem if you make, or in this case star, in a movie not sanctioned by the government in Iran you could find yourself in quite a bit of trouble. An Iranian actress who starred in just such a movie has been sentenced to a year in jail and 90 lashes. The movie was about a young actress whose work in the theatre was banned so she was forced to lead a secret life to do what she loved. The Iranian government said the movie was not approved by them so was being shown illegally. So for this young lady it was jail and lashes. My question is, do we really want to embrace these folks as the president would have us do? I think not.
Do they earn this
I am going to show you something that has been going around the net for awhile and see what you think:
Salary of retired US Presidents .............$180,000 FOR LIFE
Salary of
House/Senate .......................$174, 000
FOR LIFE
Salary of Speaker of the House ............$223,500 FOR LIFE
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders ...... $193,400 FOR LIFE
Average Salary of Soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN.......$38,000
Salary of
House/Senate .......................$174, 000
FOR LIFE
Salary of Speaker of the House ............$223,500 FOR LIFE
Salary of Majority/Minority Leaders ...... $193,400 FOR LIFE
Average Salary of Soldier DEPLOYED IN AFGHANISTAN.......$38,000
this is the retirement program the politicians have given themselves for the tireless work they do for this country. My military retirement and future social security combined don't even come close to the lowest paid person on this list. Considering the state this country is in because of these people do you believe they have earned this? The condition of this country is the direct fault of the 535 members of congress. They alone are responsible for all the spending, tax increases, and job losses that plague us today. So multiply the politicians by the retirement for life and ask yourself who should be facing cutbacks. With this retirement program they still have the audacity to suggest the military retirement and social security programs need to be altered because they cost to much.
Last but not least
Human Events posted this response Herman Cain made to the president's Jobs Bill. I think it needs to be looked at. At last someone tells it like it is:
Today, the Obama Administration's assault on the private sector continued. In yet another speech, he called for America's job creators to shoulder an even heavier burden than they must already. President Obama promised that his efforts were not "class warfare," but instead "math."
Perhaps he could learn a lesson or two on math from me. I have a degree in mathematics and spent the earlier days of my career as a supervisory mathematician for the Department of the Navy. Then, I worked for 40 years as an executive in the private sector where I balanced budgets, saved failing companies and created jobs. Both obviously demanded a command of advanced mathematics.
Here's what I can tell him about math: raising taxes on anyone, no matter their income level, will do nothing to stimulate our economy, create jobs or balance our federal budget. Increasing taxes on the private sector will destroy jobs, further damaging our economy and sending even less revenue to the federal government.
His eagerness to punish the private sector indicates he doesn't understand the most important truth of basic economics: the private sector creates jobs. These are the jobs that pay for the food for our families, the roofs over our heads, the heat for our homes, the clothes on our backs, the schools for our kids and the plans for our retirement.
Perhaps his ignorance of basic economics is due to the fact that both he and more than 90 percent of his Administration have no private sector experience at all. Thus, they are all too willing to continually punish America's job creators, all in the name of "fairness."
President Obama's once said, "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig." I agree. It doesn't matter that he calls it "paying your fair share." It's still class warfare.
That's it for today. Till next time, stay positive and God Bless.

Abraham Lincoln
I just watched a television show called "The View". Normally I would not consider this particular program. But today they invited Bill O' Reilly to speak about his new book on Abraham Lincoln. However, Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar could not help but try and sway the conversation to present day politics and even tried to show the similarities between Lincoln and Obama. O'Reilly did, on a few occasions, refuse to comment on something Whoopi or Joy said in an effort to keep the discussion on Lincoln. At one point the idea of sacrifices came up. In an attempt to explain what a good job Obama was doing Joy cited the example that Obama showed he was willing to make sacrifices and mentioned social security and other programs. But let's be honest, social security, military retirement, Medicare, and other programs that the politicians have targeted for cuts do not, in any way, demonstrate sacrifices they are willing to make. They are sacrifices they are willing to make for you, the taxpaying working stiff. I guarantee you have not heard one politician, republican or democrat, volunteer to take a cut in the outrageous retirement program they voted for themselves. Likewise, they have not said they would stop the no fee no limit healthcare plan they gave themselves and use obamacare. No, their idea of sacrifice is to take as much as they can from the American people and continue to line their pockets while doing it. After that, the rest of the show was pretty uneventful.
I will write more on this subject as this new blog grows and takes shape. In the meantime I hope you enjoy being here and feel free to express your own opinion.
