Welcome to "Thoughts from a Common Man". This blog is all about my opinions. I will always try to tell where the information was received but it will be my opinion based on that information. It may be an article, news report, or even a television program. As always I invite your feedback and input but let's try to keep it somewhat civil.

Just Another Day

With so much going on in the political world it is hard to decide what to write about or what to say.

One of the most prominent events taking place is the continued  'Occupy Wall Street" fiasco. The media tries to make it sound like this group of morons has some kind of agenda but basically what they are saying is take the money from the rich and give it to us. Maybe Ayn Rand wasn't so far off after all. Like many of the characters in her book Atlas Shrugged, the protesters and their liberal supporters feel it is their given right to take what others have worked for and earned and give it to them. So, tell me again how a college education makes you a better person. Seems to me college has become a place where liberal extremist professors shove their anti American dogma down the throats of young people and if they do it right, produce a bunch of brain dead socialists who feel the world owes them everything and they should not be expected to actually earn a living. Thank God (sorry, I hope I did not offend  anyone) for the few who make it through and still maintain their love of freedom and country. They are the true endangered species.

Harry Reid set the country straight when he made it clear that the private sector employment was good, it was the public sector that was hurting. So let me see if I have this right. The private sector unemployment rate is 9.1% as
opposed  to the public sector sitting on an unacceptable 4.7% yet he would have us believe that we, the private sector, is doing okay. If they did away with all the cushy, unneeded government jobs they could almost have no unemployment at all. And if the unions stopped giving all their money to the retiring leaders they would not have to lay anyone off either. Of whom do I speak you ask? In Illinois one retiring union leader stands to make a $500,000 a year pension and another will get around $480,000. Due to a loophole in the system these two, along with others, receive  three pensions for the same job. Hey, but you supporters of the unions keep paying your dues and doing your jobs so your tireless, upstanding leaders can get their just rewards. You really are a generous bunch of people. And don't worry if the pension fund goes belly up  us taxpayers will make sure you get yours even if we have to give up everything to do it. God knows you deserve it.

As you all know by now Sarah Palin has decided not to run for president. I was saddened somewhat by this as I personally felt she would have been a good one and stood a very good chance of beating Obama. The one thing that her supporters liked about her was that out of all the politicians, democrats and republicans, she identified with the average working American. And if, as many say, she stood no chance of winning why did the media and all the liberals hammerher so relentlessly for so long. Now that she has decided not to run they haven't had anything to say about her. As for the other candidates, it looks like Herman Cain is working his way to the top of the heap but many still think that Mitt Romney is the one who can beat Obama. Now the word on the street is if Romney gets the nomination the Tea Partiers will split from the Republican party and form a third party. I for one will switch because the republican party is no better than the liberals at this point. They continue to beat their chests and lament how the liberals  are destroying the country then vote in favor of everything the democrats bring to the floor. Let's face it Washington is just a good ole boy town looking to take as much as they can from the American people before they get run out on a rail. Serving the country as an elected official was supposed to be something you did with pride and saw as an honor. But now it is just a job with opportunities to fleece the taxpayers and get rich. Truth and honor are a thing of the past and if the American people don't wake up soon the country we know and love will be no more.

Last of all. Right here in our great state of Wisconsin the  League of Wisconsin Woman Voters in Dane county is challenging the new voter ID law saying it violates the state constitution creating a third group of people who cannot vote. I have two thoughts about that. 1, since when does any  liberal or liberal organization care about the constitution, state or federal? And 2, how does this create a group who cannot vote? If you truly want to vote in an election and you do not have a valid ID you will get one no matter what it takes. If you refuse to get an ID you don't really care about voting anyway. Also, many people have offered to help get folks to the state offices to get an ID if they need it so there really is no excuse. I think they are just doing this because it is Governor Walker who supports this and they cannot stand that. Besides if voter fraud becomes too hard to do how will they win any elections? Of course there is always the Minnesota trick, just keep having recounts till the liberal candidate wins. Job done.
Till next time God bless you all…no insult intended.
